RABUNYES YEAR-END 2025 REPORT
So much has happened during the year 2025 and we are taking a hard look at where we wish to be in 2026. Keeping this report at a high level…
- We have financially assisted with a dozen projects in organizations where their missions coincide with our own mission, namely the serving of youth in our county with educational opportunities outside of the traditional classroom setting.
- RabunYES continued offering its own teaching sessions where other organizations desire to take advantage of our expertise. IF we lack any desired skill, we can easily find an expert in a field to teach/mentor youth. The talent inside Rabun County is extensive, as is our network.
- Scout troop 19 finished up its charter in late 2025 and will not be renewing for 2026. Since RabunYES’ founding in 2016, it has chartered a BSA Cub Pack and Troop units. Troop 19 “graduated” five (5) Eagle Scouts who have gone off to college this semester or had begun their careers. There was a concerted effort to bring back our Scouting efforts into a single Scout Troop, and that has been accomplished in Troop 6. RabunYES continued to assist Scouting BSA, but not as a chartered organization (aka “sponsor”)
- A major focus of RabunYES during the year was support of Foxfire with financial support and teaching of finance in their Summer Leadership Program. That support was highlighted in a very nice article that appeared on Christmas Day (yesterday) in The Clayton Tribune. Pick up a copy and you will find an article beginning on the front page, spilling onto page A-10.
- Of notable projects in 2025, RabunYES assisted Civil Air Patrol, the Foxfire Magazine, Forward Rabun’s Youth Internship trips and Philmont Scout Reservation trip.
- We look ahead to 2026 where we have already committed funds to Cub Scout Pack 6 and are considering other projects, as our funding permits.
- The focus is on teaching teens and college students how to begin managing finances, including banking basics and credit scores. Any organization wishing to have a FREE customized seminar for 12 to 20 young people may contact us at the email in this letter.
Have a Happy, Prosperous and Blessed New Year!
